Overview

Worm Factory Refill Kit includes coconut coir, pumice, and mineral rock dust in the same convenient sizes that originally came with the Worm Factory Composter. When used as instructed this kit contains enough materials for at least eight composting trays.

Features & Benefits:

• Coir is ground coconut fiber. It is the most desirable bedding material because it retains moisture and improves the quality of the worm castings that go into your garden.
• Pumice is a lightweight, porous volcanic rock which provides excellent aeration and drainage for your vermicomposter.
• Glacial Rock Dust provides grit and helps correct pH levels. It feeds the microbes that feed the worms and helps plants take up minerals.

Kit Includes:

• 650g bricks of coconut coir
• 8 cups worth of pumice
• 2lb package of mineral rock dust

Worm bedding materials provide the optimal balance to kitchen scraps and create an ideal environment for worms, which ensures nutrient-rich vermicompost. Bedding materials should compose at least half of the material you add to the feeding trays.

The coconut coir and pumice prevent odors from forming in the Worm Factory by providing carbon, without which the system would sour. They also keep the materials in the tray from packing tightly, which promotes increased air flow and allows the worms to move freely.

Mineral rock dust provides grit for the worms and food for the microbes working unseen in the Worm Factory, helping to breakdown the food for the worms and ultimately providing nutrient rich vermicompost. Add finished compost to your garden for optimal plant growth.
