Wicks are made from 100% cotton and contain no lead or metal. Our Pure Beeswax Tea Lights are hand poured into clear, high heat polycarbonate cups for maximum glow and safety. The reusable cups fit the candles snugly so they burn for longer.

why plastic
The candles come in plastic containers. Would metal be more expensive or toxic while burning? Also seemed to go a bit quick.
