How To Use:
The newspaper plant pot maker skillfully turns discarded paper into functional and eco-friendly pots, blending creativity with sustainability. The Potmaker consists of two parts: the press and the form. Simply roll a strip of newspaper around the press, tuck the ends of the newspaper under the press, and push into the form with a twist of the wrist. The 2 ¼ inch pot will slip off the press, ready to be filled with soil and plants!

This is a wonderful tool to make paper pots for growing plants! Myself and a few others have been making pots for growing local lineage native seed that I bring to various gardens that I am assisting the recovery of in the Bay Area in California. Eliminating the use of plastic in the gardening industry will take time and the pot maker is an instrumental part of the solution!!!

This is so simple to use and makes quick work of my stack of newspapers. I soak the pots in a liquid soluble fertilizer before I add dirt and seeds.

Had success germinating seeds once in these paper pots. Just remember to keep soil moist. Did not have newspaper to make them from, so just pressed out the packing paper that came in box and it works perfectly as the paper for for the pot.

I've had a paper pot maker like this one in steady use of over 20 years! I bought this one for my sister for Christmas. She was using plastic cups for starting seeds. I'm encouraging her to minimize her use of plastics. These are perfect because there is no transplant shock. Roots eventually push through the paper as it decomposes when plants are put out into the garden. When my newspaper started publishing in color (black ink is soy based, not sure about colored) I used the lightweight brown paper used to stuff around my dog food order.
