Dimensions

Each sideboard in our raised bed design is crafted from full 1-inch-thick cedar measuring 5 1/2 inches high. Stacking two boards achieves a height of 11 inches. Opting for three boards creates a 16.5-inch raised bed, while four boards result in a 22-inch raised bed. 

For taller raised beds, specifically the 27.5" and 33" heights, trim packs are required. You can find our Natural Cedar raised garden beds equipped with trim packs here.

No matter the size, each bed includes corner pins matching the ordered bed height, making it easy to place your bed on solid ground or a patio if required. This ensures that the tops of the pins align seamlessly with the bed's upper surface.

To counteract any bowing caused by the soil's weight, this raised garden bed is equipped with rust-resistant steel crossbars.

Durable Cedar

Crafted from kiln-dried cedar, these raised beds boast a fragrant smell with a uniform texture and robust natural oils, providing durable protection against moisture and decay. The lifespan of this cedar surpasses that of most commercially available lumber.

To further enhance the durability of your raised beds, we recommend applying a stain or sealant, such as our Eco Wood Treatment. This treatment deeply penetrates the wood fibers, providing a barrier against water and decay. While fortifying the wood's resilience, Eco Wood imparts an aged, silvery patina within a few hours of application.

Innovative Design

The simple construction of these kits accommodates the natural expansion and contraction of wood, enhancing overall strength and durability in wet and dry conditions. Unlike traditional hardware that may loosen over time, our raised beds feature rust-proof steel rods firmly anchored through the ends of each board. This ensures that even after years of exposure, the raised bed remains strong and resistant to deterioration. Additionally, the raised bed can be easily disassembled if needed.

Set Up & Assembly

Assembling your L-shaped raised beds is easy on any flat surface. Simply align the boards to overlap at the notched ends and insert corner pins to securely lock them in place. Increase the raised bed's height by stacking additional layers of boards on top. The corner pins will match the ordered height of your bed, no matter which size you choose.

For optimal performance, we recommend allowing the boards to acclimate to their new surroundings by placing them in a garage, shed, or covered area for 3-5 days. This precautionary step helps prevent issues like cupping, warping, and gapping.

Easily build a cloche over these raised garden beds. You can leave the corner pins slightly protruding and then slide some thin PVC pipe over them, bending the pipe in a hoop to the other side of the bed. Then drape clear plastic over the pipe and affix with zip-ties. Now your garden is greenhouse ready!

Premium Raised Beds with Trim Pack

Our Natural Cedar raised garden beds can be equipped with a trim pack for an attractive finish and increased durability, especially for taller raised beds. The trim covers the lap joints and locks the boards in place to prevent separation on uneven ground. The trim pack consists of pre-drilled 3-1/4 inch wide top rails and corner moldings that attach to the raised bed with included screws.

For taller raised beds, specifically the 27.5" and 33" heights, trim packs are required. The premium raised beds with trim packs extend the regular 3 year warranty to 5 years.
